August 26th to 27th, Sino-US maritime military security consultation mechanism special meeting held in Beijing. The two sides of the delegation were Deputy Director of the Department of Defense Foreign Affairs Office, Guan Youfei, and the U.S. Pacific Command Policy Plan and the Secretary Rudolph Ahlers.

During the meeting, the two sides expressed their opinion of Sino-US maritime military security issues, and discussed the approaches to resolve the Sino-US military maritime safety problems.

The Chinese side pointed out that the United States continue spying the exclusive economic zone of China, and its sea and air reconnaissance is the root of the Sino-US naval and air military security problem.

The two sides agreed to the Sino-US maritime military security consultation mechanism, to continue discussions on the subject, the gradual resolution of the Sino-US naval and air military security.
