Chery M14, Chery's first roadster model, got a lot of spotlights At 2005 Shanghai Auto Show. After that, we can't hear any information about it, someone thought the development of Chery M14 was stopped. Until, a Chery M14 crash test car came to the surface recently.
The crash test car of Chery M14 exposes the developing schedule of Chery M14.
This crash test car hasn't been masked, but its frontlamp has been taken away. From these spyshots, the overall layout is exactly as the former model which showed at 2005 Shanghai Auto Show.
As we saw, the front and rear bumpers have been taken away, that helps us to understand the security structure of it easily.

Car owners of Chery A3 are very pleased with Chery A3's chasis, so we can have confidence to M14's Chasis. The 4-wheel independent suspension will go very far, as long as Chery put more time on tunning.
Power assembly : 2.0 L engine + CVT transmission
According to the photo above, Chery M14 is powered by SQR484F gasoline engine, Maximum Output is 102kW/6000rpm, Maximum Torque 182N·m/4300～4500rpm.
Now Chery has various options such as 2.0 L Turbo TCI engine, 1.6S and 1.8S engine.
As a temperary option, Chery M14 uses Chery developed QR019CHA CVT transmission. The shortcoming of Chery Auto is its transmission developing is at a slow pace.
Some sources said Chery will import the hard top technology from France, but that can stand, Chery applied its own patent. Now we can check it on State IP office's official website.
We didn't see Chery M14 at 2009 Shanghai Auto Show, the main problem is that they still have a certain mount of difficulties in the development of their hard top tech.
