African people cherish a dream that one day the capitals of all African countries will be linked by high-speed railways, Chairperson of African Union Commission Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma once said.
Perhaps, the African people have never come closer in their endeavor towards making the dream a reality.
On Wednesday, Africa's first modern electrified railway -- the Ethiopia-Djibouti railway built by Chinese firms, is set to become fully operational.
With the inception of what has been hailed as the "Tazara railway in a new era", a new chapter will be turned over in Africa's railway history, while a new milestone will be set up in China-Africa traditional friendship.
The major construction work on the world's longest cross-sea bridge, which connects Zhuhai in Guangdong Province with Hong Kong and Macao, was completed Tuesday.
A ceremony was held in Zhuhai to celebrate completion of the 55-km cross-sea route and to mark the start of road surfacing and related work.
"This means construction has entered its final stage," said Zhu Yongling, head of the administration bureau of the bridge.

Chinese passengers on high-speed trains are soon to end their days suffering from weak network signals as WiFi is to be installed on the trains in December, Xinhua News Agency reports.
Satellite transceivers, devices used for transmitting WiFi signals, have been installed on trains for further testing.
It is estimated that the WiFi will be officially up and running by December 2016.
