Chinese Team Participates in 2017 International Battle with Chinese Armor

In Chinese history, armors were the necessary equipment of soldiers. Now armors have become collections displayed in museums.

Recently, five armor fans have been wearing the Chinese traditional armors and practice for the 8th Historical Medieval Battle held in Barcelona at the end of April. Armor fans from around the world will participate in the battle wearing armors that have been existed in the history.

Italy Police patrol in Great Wall 2017

Four police officers from Italy conduct joint patrols with Chinese police officers on the Great Wall in Beijing on Monday. The Italian officers will help to patrol the streets in Beijing and Shanghai from April 24 to May 7.

Eight Chinese police officers will go on patrol in Italy in early June to help their Italian counterparts protect Chinese tourists, a senior police official said on Monday.

TV series reflect the real corruption in ChinaA 55-episode television drama-In the Name of the People-made its debut last month on Hunan Television, focusing on power struggles between government officials and their ingenious schemes for embezzling money and lining their own pockets.

For many Chinese, the series encapsulates their own experiences at the hands of corrupt officials.

"The stories in the TV series are so real," said Yang Guosheng, from Nanjing, Jiangsu province. "The scene that featured a forced demolition was reminiscent of what I have personally witnessed."

China easing visa policy for foreign talents

China is relaxing its visa rules for foreign workers to attract global talent to rev up its growth.A new pilot programme unveiled by the Ministry of Public Security this past week allows anyone who has been employed in China for at least two consecutive years to apply for a five-year work permit.

Earlier, most foreign employees had to apply for a new work permit every year, even when hired on multiyear contracts.

The trial programme is expected to be rolled out in coming months in “demonstration zones for innovative reform” in a total of nine cities and province-level governments, including Beijing, Wuhan and Hebei province, and 11 free trade zones, including those in Tianjin, Chongqing and Henan province.

China begins collecting fingerprints at Shenzhen airports

The new policy of collecting foreign passport holders' fingerprints upon their arrival in China went into effect on Friday in pilot ports of entry including Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.

The policy will be rolled out in other ports across the country by the end of this year, according to the Ministry of Public Security.

Foreigners ages 14 to 70 are fingerprinted upon entering China. Diplomatic passport holders and beneficiaries of reciprocal agreements are exempted.
